Help Bring Science to Life

More than 700 students at the ECAC School in Bouar, Central African Republic study physics, chemistry, and biology — with no lab, no microscopes, and no equipment. We're changing that.

The ECAC Science Lab Project

The Enseignement Catholique Associé Centrafricaine de Centrafrique (ECAC) School in Bouar, Nana-Mambéré serves over 700 students enrolled in science courses required by the national curriculum — yet the school has no laboratory furniture, no scientific instruments, and no safety equipment to support hands-on learning.

Most families in the surrounding rural and semi-urban areas depend on subsistence farming and small-scale trading. The students show strong academic potential, but specialized science equipment is largely unavailable in the region and out of reach without outside support.

Teach STEM Global is leading the effort to build and fund a fully equipped science lab at ECAC — putting real tools in the hands of students who have the curiosity and the drive to use them.

"A science teacher stands in front of 60 or more students and tries to explain how a circuit works, how light bends through a lens — without a single microscope, beaker, or wire to show them. The students are bright. Many walk long distances to school. What they lack is not ability or ambition — it is equipment."
