About Teach STEM Global
A nonprofit born from a single visit to Ghana, now empowering STEM learners worldwide.
In 2022, Dr. Kimberly West traveled to Ghana and was moved by the passion for learning she witnessed among students and educators, and equally struck by the lack of resources available to them. That experience planted a seed. She returned home determined to do something meaningful, and in 2023 she founded Teach STEM Africa, a nonprofit dedicated to supporting STEM education across the African continent. What started as a focused mission quickly revealed a universal truth: the hunger for quality STEM education knows no borders. In 2024, the organization expanded its scope and officially became Teach STEM Global carrying the same heart, but with a wider reach.

Founder & President
Dr. Kimberly West is an educator, advocate, and visionary leader whose career has been defined by a deep commitment to equity in education. With decades of experience in STEM teaching and curriculum development, she has worked as a middle and high school educator and educational consultant. Her 2022 trip to Ghana was a turning point that transformed her professional passion into a global mission. Dr. West leads Teach STEM Global with a hands-on approach, personally engaging with partner schools, educators, and communities to ensure that every program delivers real, lasting impact.
