It Began With a Trip to Ghana...
Our Story
During a trip to Ghana in June of 2022, Dr. Kimberly West fell in love with the students and teachers she met and worked with. The students’ desire to learn and their teachers’ passion to provide engaging and high-quality instruction for their students was evident, yet there was minimal availability of instructional tools and resources.
Upon returning home, Dr. West founded Teach Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics Africa Incorporated (Teach STEM Africa), a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization focused on supporting STEM education by providing science, technological, engineering, and mathematical instructional resources, materials, equipment, and professional development to schools and teachers across Africa.
In 2024, Teach STEM Africa evolved to become Teach STEM Global to offer STEM education support, training, and resources to schools, teachers, and students worldwide.
Our Mission
Our mission is to ensure that all children, especially those in underserved and underrepresented communities, have the opportunity to explore and experience the benefits of STEM education by providing training and instructional support to schools and teachers, as well as programming for elementary and secondary students.

Our vision is that the potential of every child will be realized through exposure to STEM education and programming, granting them access to limitless opportunities and possibilities.
STEM Education Matters
STEM education is important for a variety of reasons. It provides children of all ages the opportunity to develop cognitive skills such as critical thinking, problem-solving, creativity,and observations skills. STEM education also provides greater and deeper exposure to the fields of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics. These disciplines are essential for innovation and progress in today's rapidly evolving world. By fostering curiosity and encouraging exploration, STEM education prepares learners to tackle complex challenges, adapt to new technologies, and contribute positively to society. Furthermore, it opens doors to a wide array of career opportunities, empowering individuals to shape the future and make meaningful contributions to their communities and beyond.
